“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world would do this, it would change the Earth.”
-William Faulkner
About Weeks Law Group
The bar has been set very low in the legal industry, and Weeks Law Group, LLC, wants to serve you better. Founder and Attorney Katie Weeks decided to open Weeks Law Group after working for some of the largest, high-volume plaintiff’s firms in the country. She could plainly see that clients deserve more. More attention to the detail of their cases; more respect and compassion; more follow through on promises, and more old- fashioned honesty. At WLG, you aren’t just a number. We are about quality, not quantity. The strength we operate with is built on a solid foundation of Midwestern work ethic, but we shine because of the insights we have gained through national and global experience.
common thread
The practice areas WLG focuses on are no mistake. Immigration, Employment law and Personal Injury all have one thing in common: Real people with real problems. We know here at WLG that that’s life. It has its ups, and it has its downs. Everyone needs a helping hand now and then. Rest assured that at WLG, you will have no better advocate on your side.
aggressive, Compassionate representation
Attorney Weeks has obtained sizable settlements for her clients; represented countless employees before Judges; and helped secure a $3 million jury verdict for an injured truck driver in Colorado in 2018. During law school, Ms. Weeks completed a judicial externship for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and volunteered with the consumer division of Legal Aid. She studied international economic law and human rights law in Europe through Washington D.C.’s American University.
Proven integrity and character
Attorney Weeks, an Omaha, Nebraska, native, has a long history of advocating for those without a voice. She had a successful, decade-long career as an award-winning investigative newspaper reporter prior to becoming an attorney. As a reporter, she gave voice to the underrepresented, served as a government watchdog and investigated corporations. She has interviewed and written about people from all walks of life and has been recognized with many journalism awards including for her investigative coverage of the exploitation of Mexican factory workers, coverage of counterfeit drug smuggling, and numerous investigative reports on dysfunction in the health care system and government.
As she wrote for newspapers across the country, she was a watchdog for consumers, taxpayers and voters alike as she uncovered injustices in city, county and state government. As the health care and biotechnology reporter for the San Diego Business Journal, she won six awards in two years for her investigative work. There, she shed light on the protection of human research subjects who were enrolled in pharmaceutical clinical trials; held pharmaceutical executives accountable for lofty marketing claims; and exposed administrative and healthcare inequities at hospital systems.
Clients Benefit from reporter’s eye
WLG's approach to case investigation reflects the no-nonsense investigative reporting techniques Attorney Weeks used as a reporter. Clients benefit from Attorney Weeks’ reporters' eye; her outside-the-box approach to case investigation and resilience in digging in to find the best way to tell the client’s story to the opposition leaving the fewest vulnerabilities for the defense to poke at.
WLG cuts through the red tape to obtain the best outcome for clients and will act as the most aggressive advocate in your favor, whether that is an unrelenting employer in a wrongful termination or discrimination claim; negotiating with an insurance adjuster or opposing counsel in a personal injury claim or against the U.S. government in an immigration case.
